The accomplished engineering professional should have demonstrated skills in the areas of Flood Plain/Storm Drain System Management, land development, engineering design and/or construction, as well as policy and procedure interpretation in all civil engineering disciplines.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Prepares and oversees the preparation of complex and technical engineering studies, plans, and reports; Assists in the selection's Senior Engineering in managing the section's tasks including managing customer service, land development review, Flood plain Management, water/wastewater permitting, and on-call engineering field-assistance to City Maintenance personnel.
Coordinates and preforms professional planning and engineering work, including reviewing proposed land development plans, and environmental impact reports (EIR), and recommends or develops appropriate mitigation measures; Participates in the review, development, and/or revision of the various elements of environmental impact reports, plans, ordinances and other policies and procedures; Provide oversight of engineering consultants and/or co-workers; Meets and works with professional and public groups; Respond to residents regarding public works concerns; Manages Public Works' customer service counter and coordinates with customer service staff.

com/watch Ideal Candidate A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related field.
The required number of years of engineering experience and licensing requirements is dependent upon the level of the position staffed, namely, Engineering Associate.
A valid class C California driver's license is required.
An Engineer In Training certificate is required, although a California Professional Engineering certificate is desirable.
Possess outstanding teamwork and interpersonal skills including excellent customer relations skills Exhibit strong organizational, research and analytical skills Be able to identify alternative solutions, consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of established goals Effectively manage multiple deadlines, priorities, and concurrent projects with frequent interruptions Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills Core Competencies:
