Cohen Medical Centers is a Rheumatological/Internal medical practice & infusion center where we treat the whole person and look for root causes of illnesses.
Practice includes fully staffed Rheumatology clinic including Rheumatologist, Physician Assistant (PA-C), medical assistants and administrative staff.
In addition, there is a fully staffed on-site infusion center that provides infusible and injectable therapies that can help patients regain function, decrease pain, and improve quality of life.
We have a total staff of approximately 15.
We are seeking a highly motivated biller to assist in collecting payments from both private and public payors for medical services, procedures and infusions.
The job will entail review of denials and explanations of benefits from payors, contacting payors, submitting corrected claims to payors, if necessary, and supplementing additional medical records when needed.
Knowledge of HCPCS & CPT billing codes required.
Prior healthcare collecting experience required.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate reimbursement for medical services provided.
Responsibilities -Responsible for billing, collections, and reimbursement for patient accounts.
- Review claims for errors; make corrections as necessary.
-Appeal claims which are incorrectly processed for additional benefits.
Review EOBs, prepare and send new appeals for recently denied/down-coded services.
- Identify, follow, and resolve patient billing complaints and notify the patient or responsible party of the outcome.
- Process incoming insurance payments and correspondence.
Handle claims suspended for further information; claims rejected for incorrect subscriber information.
-Process incoming correspondence regarding the balance due and updated insurance information.
-Track and contact insurances on unanswered appeals -Responsible for staying up to date on billing and coding guidelines -Review each account on the status aging report.
Send collection letters and contact patients with overdue accounts.
If no response, present the account for collection to the Administrator for collection decision.
Process collection and bad debt adjustments.
-Perform related tasks and assignments as assigned.
