The Role As the Meal Support Tech at Alsana, you will provide nutritious meals to clients with eating disorders, adhering to recipes that have been built and analyzed by a registered dietitian to provide for client's individualized nutritional needs.
You will participate in client education about food and adhere to allergies and dietitian approved food accommodations when preparing meals.
You will provide meals for individuals as outlined in Parsley and in collaboration with the Lead Dietitian, to provide appropriate nutritional intake.
You are responsible for offering meal support, daily meal prep, food purchasing, and maintaining the kitchen according to county health codes and ServSafe standards.
Responsibilities Plans and provides all meals for clients and approved staff as outlined in Parsley.
Supports Lead Dietitian and clients during client's creation meals.
Sitting for meals, redirecting clients during meals and providing post meal support Completes meal documentation Follows all safety and sanitation procedures as outlined by ServSafe including, but not limited to, wearing hair coverings & gloves in the food preparation area.
Communicates effectively with Direct Care Staff and Registered Dietitians; reports any communication difficulties to Lead Dietitian.
Maintains responsibility for safe food standards including sanitation duties, food temperatures, refrigerator temperatures and food handling.
Takes inventory of food and supplies, orders food, and assists with recipe development.
Assists with food inventory labeling to include opening date and expiration date according to guidelines.
May lead menu planning group or assist in nutrition group with the Registered Dietitian.
Assist the Registered Dietitian in Meal Inning ordering, pick up and meal support.
Assist or complete with other projects, duties, and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications ServSafe Certified or the ability to attain within the first 10 days of on-boarding and maintains food safety standards and practices as determined by The Joint Commission.
Currently in a Nutrition undergrad program or has graduated with a degree in Nutrition or culinary school.
Interested in working in behavioral or mental health, specifically helping those in recovery with eating disorders.
For use of company vehicles, must have or have the ability to attain a CDL license with P Endorsement in CA.
Prior experience as a dietary aide, culinary tech, or line cook a plus.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
