Product Design Engineer

You will join as a critical member of a rapidly growing, multi-disciplinary team supporting pressure sensor applications within the Aerospace and Defense industries. You will support existing products as well as new business opportunities from conceptual stages all the way through production.
The successful candidate for this position takes pride in his/her hands-on and analytical abilities, organization skills, and attention to detail. He/She applies a proactive problem solving approach to any issues that may arise and appreciates an environment where superior work is encouraged and recognized.
The candidate will understand Sensata's sensor products and related technology. The candidate will have responsibility over creation and maintenance of all project design-related documents, e.g. specification reviews, drawings, solid models, bills of materials, DFMEA, stress and thermal analyses, stack-up analyses, validation plans, product and process specifications, failure analyses, corrective actions, change orders, etc. You will interact directly with various individuals and teams to design new products and maintain existing products that meet or exceed our customer's expectations with focus on continuous improvements to quality, delivery, and cost.
Job Requirements (Minimum: Required Skills/Competencies, Education Level/Major Required, Years of Experience, Certifications/Licenses, etc.):
B.S. Engineering, advanced degree preferred

years related experience
Perform structured root causes analyses, communicate those issues effectively, propose and implement corrective actions
Collaborate with and provide input to entire cross-functional team (Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Electrical, Drafting, Testing, Purchasing)
Thoroughly understand customer and industry requirements/specifications and offer design solutions based on that understanding.
Work closely suppliers to resolve design and manufacturing issues.
Comfortable with influencing and challenging others in a constructive manner to overcome obstacles and reinforce accountability.
Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
Self-initiative and strong desire to learn new skills and create innovative solutions.
Familiar with pressure sensing principles and technology and with related electro-mechanical systems.
Familiarity with various engineering materials (e.g. steel, aluminum, plastics, ceramics, silicon, adhesives, epoxies)
Awareness of industry standard processes (machining, welding, sealing, electronic interconnection, plating, soldering, molding, PCB fabrication)
Familiarity with 3D modeling (preferably Solidworks) and finite element analysis techniques.
Additional Details (% of travel required / domestic and/or international, computer language skills, necessary soft skills, etc.):
U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident is required for this position
10% domestic or international travel may be required
Fluent English (verbal and written)
Fluent in common MS office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word)
Aerospace experience a plus
This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the successful candidate must be a U.S. person as defined in the ITAR and EAR. In order to be a U.S. person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must: (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident (i.e., green card holder) of the United States; or (iii) have been admitted to the United States as a refugee, or have been granted asylum, provided that you have applied for naturalization within six months of the date you first became eligible, and if not yet accepted, you are actively pursuing naturalization after two years from the date of your application.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
