Overview
The Marketing Manager of Institutes will develop and implement creative marketing and sales strategies to secure registration for Corwin institutes. This individual will work closely with the Marketing, Professional Learning, and Sales teams to create marketing strategies to drive registrations, leads, and sales for events.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Institutes Development
Work closely with the Institute Product Manager in the Professional Learning team to create the list of events
Analyze previous institutes to determine future strategy for pricing, location, and timing.
Monitor sales and adjust marketing efforts to maximize profitability
Institutes Marketing
Produce annual marketing plan and budget for the institute line
Create individual marketing plans for each institute
Be adept at using a variety of marketing strategies including email campaigns, direct mail, web promotion, social media, PR, video, and lead generation campaigns
Work with each program Marketing Managers to ensure that marketing campaigns are utilizing all relevant messaging and content assets
Plan/develop/implement effective marketing campaigns on schedule and within budget for assigned programs and product lines
For partnered institutes, work with the partner on marketing strategy and also supply the partner with collateral to help market the event
Analyze marketing response and data in order to make adjustments to strategies
Plan strategies to maximize book sales and generate the sales pipeline
Attend regular meetings for planning and execution of regional institutes
Adhere to annual institutes marketing budget
Institutes Logistics
Work with Institutes Product Manager to secure local vendors and order materials for attendee registration bags.
Develop materials list and manage book lists for institutes.
Manage on-site set-up and logistics of keynote, general session and meal set-up which includes tables, chairs, a/v, laptops, electricity, screens, etc.
Manage logistics with venue exhibit manager.
Complete additional on-site activities including, set-up and work bookstore, hang or place signage, set-up author lounge, and set-up and maintain registration area.
Additional Responsibilities
The additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Attends institutes, assists in setup of booth, handles onsite logistics and assists in selling in the booth.
Support shipping and bookstore logistics of author consulting engagements.
Interact professionally with authors, associations and customers
Qualifications & Education
Qualifications & Education:
BA/BS degree required
Event marketing experience is strongly preferred
Must have 5+years of educational/event marketing
Email and online marketing experience preferred
Adept at Microsoft Office programs Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Proven project management and presentation skills
Experience effectively implementing campaigns across all of the promotional mixes
